Juniper's Act

Great film enthusiasts, Aurora and Grace met at the Wimbledon Film Club where they are both trustees. They went on to co-produce Art Thames Project to mark the re-opening of Putney Bridge in September 2014. At this pop-up event, people of all ages were invited to contribute chalk drawings on the ground to reflect their thoughts and ideas on wildlife in the River Thames and human impact upon that environment.

The duo's concerns for environmental issues  remain central to their new project but, this time, the medium is a soundscape.

About

Once upon a time, not far from here, two carefree children were playing by the river when they were befriended by the evil Nixie. They indulged in all the thrills the Nixie afforded them for a time but soon realised how deceitful their new friend was. As they saw their beloved river and its wildlife wither away they knew they had to stop this fiendish creature and its warped ways before it was too late.

This charming tale is an artistic interpretation of our relationship with the river expressed through voice and movement.
